Reminder: No Once Upon a Time episode on December 22, 2013 — show won’t be back until March 9, 2014

Episode 3×11 Going Home broadcast on Sunday Dec. 15, 2013 was the OUAT winter finale. The show is now on hiatus until March 9, 2014, when it will return with episode 3×12 New York Serenade. The reason there is such a long break this year is that it enables the show to air with fewer of the annoying, random breaks that we’ve seen in the past. When OUAT comes back, it will run straight through till the season finale. What do you think? Do you think the break is too long, or do you think it’s better to do it this way?

There’s no Once Upon a Time episode on November 24, 2013

Just a reminder that Once Upon a Time will not be broadcast on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, because the American Music Awards, which will probably feature some new intentionally scandalous performance by Miley Cyrus, will be taking up the time slot. Just for fun, I’m putting a little poll here, though I think we know which way the vote will go:


The next episode is 3×09 Save Henry, which will continue the Neverland saga, along with a Storybrooke flashbook that may clear up some mysteries that go all the way back to the beginning of Season 1. That will be broadcast on Dec. 1.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is also skipping a week, because of Thanksgiving, and will be back on Dec. 5.

Previous episode, behind the scenes

OUAT in Wonderland will be skipping a week. Instead of showing OUAT-in-W on Thursday, Oct. 31, ABC will be showing the classic Halloween special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

The next episode, the fourth of the season, will be The Serpent, airing on November 7, 2013.

Another hiatus for Once Upon a Time (AFTER 2×18 “Selfless, Brave and True”)

Reminder: A special called The Price of Magic aired on Sunday, April 14. There will be a new episode on April 21.

Once Upon a Time is taking another break — this time for three weeks. First week (March 31) was an enhanced rerun of 2×09 Queen of Hearts. The second week (April 7) was an enhanced rerun of 2×16 The Miller’s Daughter. This coming Sunday (April 14) will be a special called The Price of Magic. Then on April 21, the new episode Lacey. More details and a couple of polls — asking if you are annoyed about the break, and what you are going to do until the new episodes return — are after the jump. Continue reading →

On Feb. 24, Once Upon a Time will be taking a break AGAIN (because of the Oscars)

TV clip artFor the third time this winter, Once Upon a Time will be taking a break — this time for a week.

On February 24, 2103, the Academy Awards will be on ABC, pre-empting Once Upon a Time.

Episode 2×14 Manhattan will air on February 17, 2013.

Episode 2×15 The Queen is Dead will air two weeks later on March 3, 2013.

Just announced:

Manhattan will be rerun on SATURDAY, March 2, 2013, at 8 to 9 pm.

The Queen is Dead will be rerun on SATURDAY, March 9, 2013, also at 8 to 9.

To summarize, here’s the whole schedule for the next few weeks:

Sunday, Feb. 17 Once Upon a Time NEW episode 2×14 Manhattan
Sunday, Feb. 24 Academy Awards
SATURDAY, March 2 RERUN of Once Upon a time episode 2×14 Manhattan

Once Upon a Time on hiatus until February 10

Once Upon at Time is taking another break. In the Name of the Brother, which aired on January 20, 2013, was the last episode before this new break. For the two weeks following Jan. 20, there won’t be/weren’t any new OUAT episodes.

On Sunday, January 27, 2013, there was a rerun of episode 2×03 Lady of the Lake at the show’s regular time (8:00 ET).

Sunday, February 3, 2013, is going to be the Super Bowl (on CBS), and ABC isn’t even going to try to compete. They’re just going to show a rerun of America’s Funniest Home Videos in the Once Upon a Time timeslot.

The week after that, February 10, 2013, Once Upon a Time will be back with a new episode 2×13 Tiny, which will guest star Jorge Garcia as the Giant. Then the following week, February 17, 2013, will be another new episode, 2×14 Manhattan.
